| From now until June 19th, the Nashville Association of Art Dealers member galleries, including Cumberland Gallery, will donate 10% of all sales to the Flood Relief Program at the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. This presents an opportunity to purchase art and donate to a worthy cause at the same time. Nashville has shown itself to be a city of caring during this crisis. We are proud to participate in this effort for our city. Many of us have heard the expression “Art Saves Lives.” NAAD is attempting to personify this in a very real sense!
From May 15 – August 29, 2010 Cumberland Gallery will feature its roster of gallery artists in a rotating show. The show will change completely every three weeks, providing a great opportunity to view a wide variety of art genres including abstraction, representational, sculpture, prints, and photography, in addition to works on paper and canvas.
Some of the artists featured will be Andrew Saftel, Kit Reuther, Barry Buxkamper, Ron Porter, Carrie McGee, all from Nashville, Lynda Benglis, New York, David Kroll and David French, WA, David Greenspan and James Lavadour, OR, Tom PFannerstill, KY and many others.
During Art After Hours this summer, Cumberland Gallery will host discussions with artists in an interview format where various artists will be exploring the theories and processes of their work. The public is invited to come listen to these discussions and will have the opportunity to pose his or her own question during the open forum at the conclusion of the talk. The first Thursday in June, June 2nd, will feature Nashville artist Dane Carder. Tom Pfannerstill will be the featured speaker on August 5th. Art After Hours occurs the first Thursday of each month and NAAD galleries remain open until 8PM.
Regular gallery hours at 10am - 5pm, Tuesday through Saturday. The gallery will be closed for July 2-8, 2010. The gallery will re-open on Friday, July 9.
